Who is Scaling Up for

Unlock and Maximise Your Business Performance

Scaling for Growth

For leaders who want to grow — but do it properly. You’re gaining traction, but growth is bringing complexity. More people, more decisions, more pressure. Scaling Up helps you align your team, sharpen your strategy, and build the structure needed to grow without losing control — so growth actually drives profit, cash, and value.

Stability, Legacy, or Time

For those who want a better-run business — not just a bigger one. Whether you’re building a legacy to hand over, or simply want more time back, Scaling Up introduces best practices that bring clarity, consistency, and accountability. The result is a business that runs smoothly, with less reliance on you day-to-day.

End Financial Pressure

For leaders who feel stuck and want a way forward. If you’re working hard but not seeing the results — inconsistent profit, cash pressure, or constant stress — Scaling Up helps identify what’s really driving performance and focuses on the few changes that create meaningful impact.

Maximising Your Exit

For owners preparing to step away and realise value. If your goal is to exit, the business needs to work without you. Scaling Up helps build a business with strong financial performance, clear structure, and disciplined execution — making it more attractive, more valuable, and easier to transition.

The four decisions you must get right

Scaling Up People

It Starts with People

Jonathan begins with the foundation of every high-performing organisation: people.

His work focuses on creating clarity, alignment, and accountability so teams can perform at their best.

Aligned Culture and Accountability to Grow

Culture: Discovering Purpose and Values
Culture begins with purpose — the difference a team wants to make when they come to work each day. It is strengthened by values that reflect the real behaviours already alive inside the organisation.

Accountability: Creating Clarity Around Who Does What
Most organisations don’t struggle because of effort. They struggle because accountability is unclear. When ownership and expectations are clear, performance rises naturally.

Growth: Developing People to Scale the Organisation
Sustainable growth comes from developing people, not just driving results. As leaders grow in capability, the organisation’s ability to scale grows with them.

Scaling Up Strategy

Strategy Creates Direction

Jonathan starts with two simple questions: Where are we going, and how will we get there?

His approach helps leadership teams simplify strategy, focus on what matters most, and create clear direction the entire organisation can align around.

It Starts with the Core Customer
Strong strategy begins with deeply understanding the core customer — not from behind a desk, but by spending time with them to learn what truly matters.

Anchoring the Brand Promise
Strategy is anchored by a clear brand promise — the unique value an organisation commits to delivering. This promise becomes the guiding star for decision-making.

Turning Direction into Action
Once the destination is clear, leadership teams translate strategy into tangible direction, including a long-term BHAG and clear milestones.

Differentiation: Building the Muscle That Makes You Unique
Strong strategy requires choosing how to differentiate by strengthening the unique capability or experience that sets an organisation apart.

Scaling Up Execution

Execution Turns Strategy into Results

A key strength of Jonathan’s work is helping leadership teams bring strategy to life after the workshop.

He ensures that the decisions made in planning sessions become embedded into daily habits, rhythms, and accountability systems.

Aligned Culture and Accountability to Grow

Priorities: Turning Direction into Action
Execution begins with clear priorities that create focus and momentum.

Jonathan helps teams apply the “domino theory” — starting with the end in mind and working backwards to identify the few critical priorities that drive everything else.

  • A three-year strategic direction and capability plan
  • Annual priorities that move the organisation toward that future
  • Quarterly priorities (“rocks”) that create immediate progress

Like dominoes, when the first priority moves, it triggers the next — creating alignment and forward momentum across the business.

Data and Metrics: Measuring What Truly Drives Results
Strong execution depends on measuring the right things — not reporting for reporting’s sake but focusing on the few key numbers that truly drive outcomes.

Meeting Rhythms: Keeping Everything in Tune
Structured weekly, Monthly and planning meetings rhythms that keep teams aligned, accountable, and responsive, ensuring progress stays on track and challenges are addressed quickly.

Scaling Up Cash

Cash Flow Excellence

As an international business coach and financial excellence speaker, I’m known for educating companies on creating strategy from your financials and merging it into the Scaling Up framework.

The Problem

Every team can read numbers. Very few can use them.
“What’s the difference between knowing your numbers and truly understanding financial excellence?”

Financial excellence isn’t about spreadsheets. It’s not about reports. And it’s definitely not about staring at numbers and deciding whether you’re doing well or not.

Financial Excellence = Understanding the relationships inside your numbers.
At any point in time, your results are being driven by a small set of financial drivers.

When teams finally see how those drivers connect, that’s when the lights go on. Because once your team understands the drivers, you can immediately create clear action
items around them.

Financial excellence is not accounting: It’s leadership.

When you lead through your numbers — not just report on them — they become your
greatest competitive advantage, driving cash, accelerating profit, increasing valuation, and
delivering up to 5x return on your investment.

The real challenge is not understanding the tools — it is bringing them to life inside a business.

How is Scaling Up different from traditional business coaching?

Most coaching stays high-level or theoretical. This approach is practical and execution-focused. We don’t just talk strategy—we build clear plans, implement rhythms, and track measurable outcomes tied directly to cash, profit, and valuation.

How long does it take to see results?

You’ll typically see clarity and alignment within the first 30–60 days. Tangible financial improvements (cash flow, profit, execution discipline) usually follow within 90 days, with compounding results over 6–12 months.

What does the process look like?

We follow a structured approach:

  • Initial discovery and alignment
  • Strategy and financial clarity (including the Cash Flow Story)
  • Implementation of execution rhythms (daily, weekly, quarterly)
  • Ongoing accountability and refinement

Everything is designed to move from ideas → execution → measurable results.

What does the process look like, and how much time will it require?

The process starts with an initial workshop, typically delivered over two full days, designed to bring the leadership team together, create clarity, and align everyone around strategy, execution, and financial priorities.

Where needed, this can be structured as one full day plus two half-day sessions, but the goal remains the same—focused, high-quality time with the team to drive alignment and build a clear plan.

From there, we move into implementation and accountability. This includes:

  • Weekly leadership meetings to drive execution
  • Quarterly planning sessions to reset priorities
  • Short check-ins to maintain focus and momentum

The time commitment is practical and structured. It’s not about adding more to your schedule—it’s about making the time you already spend far more effective and aligned to results.

Do I need a large business to benefit?

No. The framework works best for companies with some traction (typically $3-5M+ revenue), but the principles apply to any business looking to scale with discipline and clarity.

What kind of results can I expect?

Clients typically achieve:

  • Improved cash flow and profitability
  • Stronger team alignment and accountability
  • Clearer strategy and faster decision-making
  • Increased business value and exit readiness
What if my team isn’t aligned right now?

That’s exactly where this process creates the most value. We bring clarity to roles, priorities, and communication so everyone is aligned and pulling in the same direction.

Is this a one-off engagement or ongoing?

Both options exist. Some clients start with a focused workshop, while others engage in ongoing coaching to drive sustained results and long-term value creation.
